Chart Notes:

  • A little over seven years ago, the band Jack’s Mannequin first made my survey with their song called “The Resolution”. It topped out at #17. They eventually charted three other singles, but none could go as high as their first. Now, lead singer Andrew McMahon (and his new project In The Wilderness) is doing even better. He went to #3 last November with “Cecilia And The Satellite”, and now, he finally has his first #1 on my top 40 with “High Dive”, advancing 3-1. The single is also nearing the top 30 on Alternative radio.
  • This week’s only debut makes a big splash at #29. It’s “Adventure Of A Lifetime”, the latest single to reach my chart for the quartet Coldplay. It leads their forthcoming album titled A Head Full Of Dreams, due on December 4. Thus far, the band has accumulated six #1 singles, all since 2008, and should this hit the top, it’ll be a record-breaker. It might be too early to tell what the end result is going to be, but it’s off to a nice start.
  • As we continue through November, there are just three more Adam’s Top 40 charts until the end of the 2015 Chart Year. I know it’s going to be another great year-end chart. Stay tuned for more updates on the Top 100 of 2015 survey, which will be counted down in mid-December here on PGTC.
