Chart Notes:

  • After debuting on the top 40 last week at #39, “Run Away With Me” from Canadian performer Carly Rae Jepsen picks up the pace in this musical marathon and bolts up to #29, a gain of ten notches. This marks the second time in July that a single has managed to make a double-digit leap, the other one being “Pressure Off” by Duran Duran, Janelle Monáe and Nile Rodgers, which also climbed ten notches (32-22) on the chart dated July 5. Look out for more as its chart “Run” continues.
  • This week’s Highest Debut is by A Great Big World, the New York duo of Ian Axel and Chad King (formerly Vaccarino.) I was a huge fan of their single “Already Home”, a seven-week #1 on my chart that ended up as the #2 song on the Top 100 of 2014. Now, “Hold Each Other” holds down the #35 spot, and it should rise quickly in the coming weeks. There’s no word yet on when their second album will be released.
  • Also new this week is the second radio single from Nate Ruess‘s recent solo set, Grand Romantic. “Nothing Without Love” recently climbed to a peak of #3, and now, “Great Big Storm” brings a gust of wind and blows onto the chart at #40. A video for the single recently premiered and it continues to garner adds at the Hot AC format.
