Chart Notes:

  • After debuting last week at #37, the second top 40 single for Bleachers climbs nine notches to #28 to become this week’s Biggest Mover. “Rollercoaster” is the second single from Strange Desire, which just missed the top ten on the Billboard 200. In early 1976, the Ohio Players went to #1 on the Hot 100 with a song called “Love Rollercoaster”. Will Jack Antonoff and his act ride their way to the top as well? Stay tuned!
  • This week’s Highest Debut goes to Canada’s Nickelback, back on the chart after a little over two years away. They may get a bit of flack, but I’m liking their latest, “What Are You Waiting For?”, which debuts at #37. It’s taken from the forthcoming album No Fixed Address, due this November on Republic Records. Active Rock radio is currently spinning another single, “Edge Of A Revolution”.
  • Down at #40 is Maroon 5 with the second hit from their album V. Following the recent #2 “Maps” is a single called “Animals”, which is not a hot Martin Garrix remake. It’s already started to receive some pretty large adds at CHR radio and officially impacts the format this week. This marks the band’s 20th song to reach my top 40.
  • With new singles by acts like Fergie (“L.A.LOVE (La La)”), Gwen Stefani (“Baby Don’t Lie”) and One Direction (“Steal My Girl”) all debuting in the next few weeks, you never know what will happen on the countdown. Watch out as October rolls in – there’s bound to be a lot of action.
