Chart Notes:

  • In three weeks, the latest from Coldplay has gone from 28-18-11 on the chart, titled “Magic”. It’s gaining airplay at four U.S. radio formats, including Alternative and Hot AC. Should it break the top ten on the Hot 100, it would be the first magical title to rank there since “Magic” by B.o.B featuring Rivers Cuomo peaked at #10 in 2010, and the first by a band to do it since America‘s “You Can Do Magic” went to #8 in 1982.
  • “Raging Fire” once again captures the title as the Biggest Mover of the week for 23-year-old Phillip Phillips. The song jumps from 29-19 as it also advances in the top 20 at Hot AC radio. “Raging” leads Phillip’s sophomore album, which is due later this spring.
  • Fresh off a good first adds week at U.S. radio, the former U.K. #1 smash from Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne, “Rather Be”, climbs from 36-29 this week. Despite a small amount of airplay thus far, the single is already making its way up iTunes and looks to sell about 5,000 copies this week. It’s a start! Watch out for this one on the Hot 100 this summer.
  • Their single “Anything” peaked at #32 earlier this year; now, Hedley returns to my chart with “Crazy For You”, debuting at #38. It’s currently hovering around the top ten on Canada’s Hot 100. “Crazy” is the second single taken from Wild Life, which was released last November in Canada and sees a U.S. release in May.
  • The only other debut this week is from Australian singer Guy Sebastian, inat #39 with “Like A Drum”. Last fall, it hit #4 down under. It’s his first hit to reach my chart, though he’s been reaching the ARIA Singles survey at a good rate since his debut in 2003.

  1. Justlinsu

Guy Sebastian has the most amazing unique voice I’ve ever heard. And one of the most humble and talented artist out there today.

  2. As a fellow pop music blogger, I really love this site and am able to find myself some great new music to listen to and review as well. Keep up the great work.
