TURN IT UP TUESDAY: What’s New In Stores This Week (January 7)

He's not giving in.

Newman, the newkid on the block.

It’s a new year, it’s a new Turn It Up Tuesday with a Newman to boot. Here are all the releases you need to know about for January 7:

  • A few months ago, John Newman went to #1 on the U.K. Albums Chart with Tribute, and now, that very same release is out in the U.S. today. Leadoff “Love Me Again” is doing moderately well on the charts, so expect that the album will land somewhere in the middle of the pack. I’ve already charted three tracks from it; I would definitely recommend it. (iTunes)
  • With his first full-length album on RCA, rapper Kid Ink does it in My Own Lane, featuring the hit “Show Me” with Chris Brown. It’s currently #3 at Rhythmic radio and top 20 at Urban. (iTunes)
  • Featuring several hits on the Christian chart, former American Idol contestant Colton Dixon rereleases A Messenger in a deluxe form. (iTunes)
  • Other albums out this week include Wig Out At Jagbags by Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks (iTunes) and the soundtrack to August: Osage County. (iTunes)

New digital-only singles that you can buy this week include:

  • The Drift (EP), new from The Voice contestant Michelle Chamuel and Arjun Singh. (iTunes)
  • “After The Disco”, another digital track from Broken Bells. (iTunes)
  • “Or Nah”, from rapper Ty Dolla $ign featuring Wiz Khalifa and DJ Mustard. (iTunes)
  • “Mind Over Matter”, a digital release from indie rockers Young The Giant. (iTunes)
  • “Stand Down”, a new track from Little Mix. (iTunes)
  • “This Is Now”, a new single from Christian group Casting Crowns. (iTunes)
  • “You Sound Good To Me”, the debut single from actress Lucy Hale. (iTunes)

Will The Boss be the boss of the chart next week? Check out new releases from Bruce Springsteen and more in seven.
