Chart Notes:

  • For a song about letting go, this one isn’t doing it easily. In fact, Passenger‘s “Let Her Go” has been #1 for six weeks on my chart. The 29-year-old singer-songwriter also enters my In The Mix section this week with his followup single, “Holes”. I’m digging it. (ba-dum-tss) So, if you were expecting him to fade away anytime soon, he’s not going anywhere yet. He begins touring the U.S. next month.
  • Entering the top twenty this week are Train and Ashley Monroe‘s “Bruises” (24-19) and Pink and Lily Rose Cooper‘s “True Love” (26-20). Both are fourth singles from their respective albums and unless anything drastic happens, they both look top five bound in July or August. Both are also coming off #1 singles: “Mermaid” from Train and “Just Give Me A Reason” with Nate Ruess for Pink.
  • Several songs make big moves up the charts this week, including “St. Croix” by newcomers Family Of The Year (36-28), but the largest of all is the comeback single for Five For Fighting. His “What If” soars from 40-29, a gain of eleven spots. His album, Bookmarks, will be available on September 17.
  • Two songs make their debut this week, which I first heard late last week. Grouplove takes the Highest Debut honors at #38 with “Ways To Go”, the first single from their forthcoming Spreading Rumors album. It’s already surging at Alternative radio and will debut somewhere in the top 30 when the final update comes in later today.
  • This week’s other entry at #40 is the fourth hit on my chart for the duo Karmin. “Acapella” is the first single from a full-length album coming later this year. Their biggest single thus far, “Brokenhearted”, spent three weeks at #7 last year.
